Great food, but cramped inside

Best old school red sauce Italian restaurant around. Absolutely delicious food, and welcoming hosts and servers. We do their two for $25 deal probably once a week. Wonderful people, place, and food.

This has been an extremely excellent place for exceptional food. Service has always been great.the only negative is that they no longer serve lunch. Always took my children there to eat. While my son was in preschool and kindergarten I went with my daughter several times a week for a few years. They always treated my children fantastic and made sure they received everything they needed and wanted. Very Highly Recommend Sam's!!¡!

Cozy and good food. The owner is so friendly and usually there circulating about and knows many customers. I stayed for a while talking with family, and there was no pressure to leave.

I chose to have a take out the other day. Reminds of a good Italian restaurant in NYC! (This was a treat to my kids and myself because I really can't afford to dine out that often.) But I am tired of sandwiches, broken dinners, eating late. If you can with the stimulus check, or tax refunds, I encourage you to take a break from cooking , treat yourself and family, and grab their special 2 dinners for $25.00, runs M-F, 2 meals = 4 dinners with their portions. And it was a relief to have my dinner paid for and help a fine dining establishment at the same time!! Hope for haven!

Great food, great price

Lack of flavorinn the sauce, chicken for chicken parm was overcooked, fettuccine Alfredo sauce also no taste. Service was wonderful but I wouldn't go back. Very disappointed, was really looking forward to a good Italian dinner Ann's out didn't happen.

Classic Italian-American food served in a warm family environment. I've been coming here for over 30 years. Comfort food at its finest.

Tradition Italian food prepared well with ample portions. Family run since the early 70s. Prices are reasonable and service excellent. Too many signature dishes to list. A very popular neighborhood eatery with lots of return customers.

The taste, smell and ambiance of the Italian restaurants you used to go to when there was a good italian restaurant in every neighborhood. Had the chicken Dolce. Excellent! Bread was fresh/tasty. Others were very happy with their meals. Did not get a chance to try dessert; most of which are home made from what was said. EST! EST! EST!

Great mom and pop that I have been meaning to try for the first time and it won't be the last. Great service, timing of appetizers, salad and entries was perfect. They even welcomed us to come in right away on a Saturday night when calling ahead. This is a small place so reservations are recommended. Don't miss this gem.

Hidden gem of Italian restaurants! The staff was so kind and accommodating for our 5 month old! Huge portions and great cannolis.

Very good homemade Italian food.

This was the 1st time I have been here. The food was very good. I had the chicken cacciatore which was very good. The menu had a good variety of different Italian dishes. The atmosphere was inside was very nice as well. It was almost like you were visiting someone at their house to have dinner. The service was very good as well. Always coming back to the table to make sure you have everything you need.

Delicious! Reminds me of my grandmas for Sunday pasta. Sauce is delish. What I really appreciate is nothing is salty!! It’s just good home cooking with great flavor.

Food was delicious and fresh. Nice portion size with excellent price value. Amazing service. Highly recommend this little gem.

Apparently sams owners owns apartment complex down road and someone I know lived apt right next door an he was parked in their parking lot for a little while because someone was in his spot and their was no where to park he’s lived their 2 years and his car gets towed they asked if anyone who’s car it was and they knew it was his see them every morning so $140 later after the kid is already down out of luck then to top it off we couldn’t find where it was towed to the woman who answered phone was very rude and started swearing at him for no reason he literally was checking to see if spot was opening up and must of just missed the tow. She kept calling him back yelling an swearing for no reason their was 10 open parking spots available and shouldn’t been so serious.

Nice quite place, good food.

The best Italian restaurant East of Italy

Sauce was bland, sausage and spaghetti was over cooked, meatballs not flavorful at all. The best thing about the 2 for $25 was the salad and the Italian bread.

Always a great meal from friendly owners!

First time here with my girlfriend. What a great little spot for Italian. I am a picky Italian and the food was on par. I been to many Italian places and this felt "old school Italian." Definitely going back. My reasons for 4 stars is only because I been all over for Italian, Capital Region and NYC. Expect Great service here.

What a great place for Italian food! The martinis were perfect & the veal parmesan excellent! Great food, warm, intimate atmosphere. I would highly recommend it & will go back when in the area.

Classic neighborhood Italian food. Just plan on enjoying your time there. Service is great but takes time. It's homemade food, not fast food.

An Albany institution. When I say that you can come back after years and the food is just as you remember, that is a compliment.
